Rainbow Trout in Bristol Bay, Alaska, is fantastic! Our Alaskan Rainbow Trout and Dolly Varden feast on salmon eggs and flesh with our location on the Nushagak and Mulchatna Rivers with the large salmon run. Flesh and egg pattern flies are the big rainbows ticket, some 30 inches plus and 10 lbs, or more.

Fishing Rainbow Trout
We suggest you bring your own Rainbow Trout fly fishing gear. Depending on your fly fishing experience, carry 6, 7, or 8 wt fly-rods and maybe a 3 or 4 weight for some topwater action for Grayling. Rainbow Trout & Salmon Camp
Located in the Bristol Bay area 20 miles below the village of Ekwok, Alaska. The Main Lodge and cabins sit on the bluff overlooking the Nushagak River at the Iowithla river’s confluence and in the village of Ekwok. Our new location just above the tidewaters near the Iowithla river is convenient for guests by a floatplane, wheeled plane, and boat. Sitting on the bluff in Ekwok and the Iowithla river, our wooden cabins and Yurts are right next to the lodge’s, overlooking the Nushagak River.
Remote Alaska Rainbow Trout, Salmon & Grayling Camp
Our remote Fish camp is my main Moose hunting facility in the Fall and is 100 miles upriver from Ekwok, AK. It is a fly-in destination from Iliamna, AK, or a 4hr boat ride from Ekwok. There isn’t another fisherman for 30 miles in any direction! We can offer various approaches to fishing the upper Mulchatna river, including hitting all the tributaries and small streams that find their way into the Mulchatna River. This is by far my favorite place to fish for the simple reason the isn’t another person around for 20-30 miles, and the fish haven’t been harassed at all.
Alaska Fishing Packages
Our Rainbow Trout fishing packages are all-inclusive once you arrive in fishing camp in Ekwok, cooked meals, breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as snacks. We set you up with all the gear, bait, freezer boxes, fish cleaning, and packaging for your fully guided fishing trip. Our Self-guided fishing trips are identical to fully guided, except there is no guide, so you will find and catch and clean and package your own fish. Otherwise, meals are provided just the same as fully guided. You can contact me personally to talk about if you’re ready for a self-guided trip.
Alaska Fishing Licenses
To fish Rainbow Trout in Alaska, you will need a non-resident Alaska fishing license from the Alaska Department of Fish & Game. You can get them at any sporting goods store before coming OR from Alaska Elite Hunting at the lodge.
